Award named after Naomi Bouskila
Naomi Bouskila Award is presented every year (starting from 2008)
for the best student paper of the year in Zoology, published in the
Israel Journal of Ecology and Evolution. The award commemorates the
interestNaomi had in Field Biology, Ecology and Nature Conservation.
The award is presented during the annual conference day ofthe
Zoological Society of Israel, in Hannukah, close to the anniversary of
Naomi'sdeath.
In 2008, the winner was Gili Peleg, for her article: "Facial expressions in various
emotional states in congenitally blind and sighted subjects" (Israel Journal of Ecology and Evolution, 2009, Vol. 55:101-105).
In 2009, the winner is Uri Roll, for his article: "Hot-spot facts and artifacts – questioning Israel's great biodiversity". He will receive the award on the 13.11.2009, at the conference which will be held in Haifa University.
The funds for the award have been contributed by family andfriends.
